snow day

It’s our first real snowfall today, although it’s melting as I type. I’m not sure what it is about snowy days that makes me think of Victorian ironworked lamps and fences, but in my mind, I see a lot of them on days like this. Ok, I guess Narnia obviously influenced the lamps (thank you, Mr. Lewis!). There is just something so warm and comforting to me about the lovely glow of a gaslamp. You can just picture a couple of urban fauns walking through the park above, tails draped over their arms as they carry shopping bags full of goodies. I see them laughing and singing Yuletime songs as they plan their next dinner party. Oh yes, there is always magic …
